OK, I'm not completely deluded, Leinart has had a poor poor NFL career, many have said 'ooh its due to the pressure of the Heisman trophy.' But i simply DON'T BUY IT. Just look at this year and Cam Newton rarely has a man out of college divided opinion as much as Newton, and never has a college QB come out and proved doubters wrong to the degree that Cam has. Leinart was one of the most hyped QB's in recent draft and in truth has been a total bust. his numbers are crap.
% Completion - 57.1
TD-INT - 14-20
Yards - 3,893
QB Rating - 70.
But this second chance gives Leinart some fresh air, room to breath. Not as much pressure, with Schaub down people have already begun to write off the Texans, but this team is superb in many areas. Leinart reels off the play-action, and with Arian Foster and a scintillating run game Houston now has a ground game that can provide Leinart the platform to shine, as well as one of the most natural receivers (ha) in a decade in AJ.
Schedule - (Predictions)
@Jacksonville (W)
Atlanta (L)
@Cincinnati (W)
Carolina (W)
@Indianapolis (W)
Tennessee (W)
This schedule is very favourable to Leinart and Co. Atlanta in Texas will provide the stiffest test, but from then on in i can see Houston winning out, this will leave them with a 12-4 record more than enough to take control of the AFC South and a potential conference topping record (I know) and then it comes down to the bottle of Houston, getting over the Play-off hump will evoke major celebrations all across Texas, and I can see them taking to Play-Off football immediatly.
So as you can see the maths add up. At worst i see them finishing 11-5 which is still more than enough in this years AFC, and as those around dread a Schaubless led franchise i can see Leinart being one of the stories off the season ....
